Toyota solar stations for electric cars | Toyota solar stations for PHVS and EVs – Toyota creates solar stations for electric cars! The Japanese automotive firm Toyota Industry is developing solar stations to recharge vehicles Plug-in Hybrids (PHVS) and electric (EVs).

The project was adopted by the municipality of Toyota City in Aichi prefecture in Japan, and should emerge from the April 2010 installation of 21 such stations to 11 different places in the city as offices The municipality, railway stations … etc. …

The stations are equipped with solar panels and an energy storage system, and when there is no vehicle support and storage system is full, solar power is switched on the normal power grid. In case of natural disaster, the station can serve as a backup generator for electric vehicles or other conventional power equipment.
