Asus Eee Top: the touch PC

Asus was cheered by the success of its Eee PC into a desktop. It’s assembled around the Intel Atom N270, operating at 1.6 GHz, matched with 1 GB of RAM type DDR2-400, all based on an Intel chipset 945GSE ICH7M. It has at the same time the chipset with integrated graphics Intel DVMT 945GSE.

The integration of components behind the monitor requires the use of a 2.5-inch hard disk with a capacity of 160 GB SATA 5400 rpm. This monitor is touch of a resolution of 1366 x 768 16 / 9, and a size of 15.6 inches.

Its compactness doesn’t keep integrate chipset High Definition Audio 5.1 and two speakers with 4 W SRS. A 1.3 Mpixel webcam is also award, as well as WiFi b / g / n, gigabit Ethernet, a memory card reader (such as MMC, SD, SDHC, MS and MS Pro) and 6 USB2.0 ports .

Using Windows XP Home Service Pack 3 platform, Asus has installed graphics allowing computer use more intuitive when controlled by the fingers.

The Top Eee will be available in white and black, from 21 January 2009, and for a price of 549 €.
